VILLAGE HOUSE
A modular housing type for community redevelopment
Village House is a model for live-work housing in cities that stuggle to leverage vacant parcels against economic disenfranchisement around traditional single-family home ownership.
Affordable to build, Village House can grow over time with the addition of type modules, such as rental unit, studio, and shop. This allows residents to build an equity-driven value chain with a co-op model, and to lease modules that they own accordingly to others. This disruption over time cultivates an economically diverse, community-driven model for housing and neighborhood development. Modules can aggregate to create larger assemblies, much like a building full of condos might.
