Placeholder Public is a public shade structure designed to protect against the sun and wind without obstructing a view to the sky above.
The assembly of curvaceous sail-shades ebb in the wind while affixed to a rigid grid structure, and each installation can be one module or one hundred in size. Through variation in composition, Placeholder Public creates a new form of public space as a fluid continuity of rooms that are sporadically programmed for use.
